Frequently asked questions

What areas do you service?

We are located in Moffat Beach, but our clients are located in Caloundra, Dicky Beach, Kings Beach, Currimundi, Wurtulla and beyond.

Do you accept Private Health Funds?

Yes we do! We have a Hicaps machine in the clinic, so you can make a claim on your private health fund right away.

Do I need a referral to see a Women's Health Physiotherapist?

No. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare practitioners, which means you can book directly without a referral.

Some patients are referred by their GP, obstetrician, gynaecologist or specialist, but a referral is not required to see Gabby.

What Conditions Can Women's Health Physiotherapy Help With?

Women's Health Physiotherapy can help with a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Bladder leakage and urinary incontinence

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Pelvic pain

  • Pain during intercourse

  • Pregnancy-related back or pelvic pain

  • Abdominal separation (diastasis recti)

  • Postpartum recovery

  • Return to exercise after pregnancy

  • Menopause-related concerns

  • Bone health and osteoporosis

If you're unsure whether physiotherapy can help, feel free to get in touch.

Do I Need To Have A Pelvic Floor Assessment?

Not always.

Every assessment is tailored to your individual needs and goals. In some cases, a pelvic floor assessment can provide valuable information to guide treatment. However, this is never mandatory and will only be discussed if clinically appropriate.

Your comfort and consent are always our priority.

What Is An Internal Pelvic Floor Examination?

An internal pelvic floor examination allows your physiotherapist to assess how your pelvic floor muscles are functioning.

This may provide important information about muscle strength, coordination, tension or areas contributing to your symptoms.

The assessment is only performed with your informed consent, and you are welcome to decline or stop the examination at any time.

Can I Bring My Baby To My Appointment?

Absolutely.

We understand that attending appointments with a baby can be challenging, and babies are always welcome at Be Strong Physio.

Our goal is to make your appointment as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

When Should I See A Women's Health Physiotherapist After Birth?

Many women benefit from a postnatal assessment around 6-8 weeks after delivery, even if they are not experiencing symptoms.

A postnatal assessment can help identify any issues early and provide guidance around pelvic floor recovery, abdominal strength and returning to exercise safely.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as leaking, heaviness, pain or difficulty returning to activity, it is never too late to seek help
